Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, 2012-17. Co-Investigator for the Urban Aboriginal Knowledge Network. A national research network between universities, Native Friendship Centres and government. Awarded $2.5 million.
Unbanked Population in Prince George
Network Environments for Aboriginal Research BC and National Collaborating Centre for Aboriginal Health, 2010. Funding for a project on the ‘Unbanked Population in Prince George’. $7,000.
The Political Economy of China’s Currency Choices
Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, 2009-12. Principal Investigator for a Standard Research Grant on ‘The Political Economy of China’s Currency Choices’ with two Co-Investigators, Drs. Chin and Wang. Awarded $79,989.
Globalizing Northern British Columbia
Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, 2009-12. Principal Investigator for a Northern Communities: Towards Social and Economic Prosperity Research Grant on ‘Globalizing Northern British Columbia’ with four Co-Investigators, Drs. MacPhail, Summerville, Wilson and Young. Awarded $132,000.

Co-Investigator in a five-year Major Collaborative Research Initiative on ‘Neoliberal Globalism and Its Challengers: Reclaiming the Commons in the Semi-Periphery’. Awarded $1.43 m.. An 18 person multidisciplinary team, led by Professor Gordon Laxer, Department of Sociology, University of Alberta, from Canada, Australia, Mexico and Norway engaged in a comparative analysis of ‘globalism’ in the four countries.
